    New health food toy

I picked this up last night - Cuisinart 8 cup rice cooker & food steamer. It's bigger than what I need, but I can make the rice in bulk for a few days at a time.

I could totally use this...seeing as I have a 20 pound bag of rice under my sink.
Don't worry......they ALWAYS come back.  ALWAYS.

Greg, I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond. They run pretty much from less than $20 to over $200.

    Mine was $79.99

They have a 4 cup one for $49.99, but I didn't see it in the store, so it may be online only. Other than the size they're the same. It has auto switch from cook to warming. You can also steam food on top while the rice is cooking.

Honestly probably the microwave. Shitty, but that's life when you cook in bulk.

I had no clue how cheap rice really was until now. It's like $1 for a box with 4 cups of dry rice. According to the cooker, 1 cup of dry rice makes 3 cups of cooked rice.

Last night I made dinner for us. Grilled salmon filets, rice & steamed asparagus spears. Sarah only had half of her salmon filet, but had extra rice. So tomorrow I'll find out how it is reheated.

Mine has a reheat button. Rice gets pretty hot after 30 min.
